Kyoto Tachibana University was founded in 1967 as a private university for women under the Tachibana Educational Institution, which has a history of more than 100 years. The university became co-educational in 2005 and now consists of eight faculties and fifteen departments, with approximately 5,900 undergraduate and 90 graduate students.

Located in Kyoto—the ancient capital of Japan, known for its cultural and political heritage—Kyoto Tachibana University upholds the educational philosophy of “Independence, Coexistence, and Practical Knowledge”, aiming to foster human resources that meet the evolving needs of society.
